rock on!

...today I had a great surfing day.
...6´ solid waves in a pointbreak with off shore first, then glassy conditions.
...I d riding very good ones; larger drops, powerfuls bottom turns, 4 or 5 snapbacks per wave; all in my Bonzer 5´ 10´´. But unfortunately, I hit a rock, a big one and now Im in bed with too much pain ( I dont know if Im with a fracture) and I m only stand up (very slowly) to go to a Super and to cook something.
I saved the Bonzer (board) from the smash, but not my new (today was the second day of use..) 4/3mm winter wetsuit. that now sports a couple of cuts.

...I dont know if I got a broken bone...but I have kind of a stabbing pain and no (or a bit)inflammation...

Where Fer? If it's on your leg or foot, it's not broken because you wouldn't be able to stand up. I know because I broke my foot once... If there is no inflammation, probably not broken either, but still go and get an x-ray! Put ice on it :-)

...the pain is down the back, near one of the kidneys...
...yes Im put a lot of ice in this area...

...the hit was not my fault, other guy took the wave in front of me, and send me directly to the rocks...(there re courtesy rules in surfing, and the guy broke one of these)

...Im 230 km of my Doctor (private hospital, that Im a member.)

That's too bad!! I hope you feel better and get plenty of rest, that is the best thing right now and if you don't feel better, you will need to go to the doctor, too bad it's so far!!

While you are resting, take a look at this blog (I think you have seen it before, there are some nice photos of surfing and also interesting links, especially about "courtesy rules") www.surfing-gooroo.blogspot.com. I hope you feel better soon and can go back to surfing soon!!! Good night :-)

Oh Fernando! :-( What pain! Sorry to hear of it my friend. If I may suggest that you lay on a solid, hard ground - as opposed to a soft bed. Place some blankets on the ground - the simple reason, it is better for vertebrae alignment, just in case.

Keep us updated because we are thinking of you!

fernando, what country/ countries are you supporting in the World Cup?

...thanks to all of you, my internet friends, who take your time to concern about my health and supports me...

...in years of board building and ding repairs, I ve got an hypothesis: "...when you finish the works and in time, the customers NEVER appear (dunno why) to pick up the boards, but when (for any reason, like this)) you havent finished yet the customers do their act...
so here I am, with minimun body motion, trying to finish those dings (the girl bring the board about 3 weeks ago and without hurry and no time to delivery, but unsurprinsingly, yesterday call to pick up the board tomorrow)

...yes I ll go to the doctor after all of this (cause my medical system is in other city) to do the x rays...may be a rib with a fissure (for the area) or may be nothing...

...Dr Nazli: not a special country, may be Argentina (cause is similar to Uruguay)

Ferando - just checking up on you! I see you are spirited and thankfully will go see the doctors. Doctors are good you know! :-)

As for the girl who takes her time to bring the board and is in a hurry to fetch it - she is no friend of ours!

Lots of good wishes to you!

Excellent - I expect you to bring us "supporting" Argentina news. It starts tomorrow! Too excited!

Ciao for now Fernando, take good care! :-)

I am glad you are ok... As for the girl, how inconvenient... Don't make yourself worse because of it though.

How about Brasil? Support Brasil if Argentina loses then? ;-)

Dear Fernando - how is your back?

Hey - I was brought up in Africa so I never can forget the African countries in the World Cup. In fact I am very glad that you remembered the African countries ...

I am supporting all the African countries (along with you?)- until they come against England :-) since I have been supporting England from childhood.

Fernando - feel free to e-mail me anything "fearless" you want posted - via the contact link on my profile and I will have them up.

cheers,

Fernando! How are you? Thank you for your thougthful comments - loved them! And loved Cris' responses to them :-)

Fernando - I have no idea what 'yer bonzer' is - but do you want to send a me a pic of one for our "Picturesque Monday". Also on Friday - we are going to celebrate that fact that you are "rocking on" after your surf incident - so we want a report on how you are doing. Ok?

Huge hug!
